SHAKE YOUR BOOTY!
No, I'm not making a milkshake, and I'm not making some idiot diet shake. Not my thing. I try to eat as healthy as possible, but you won't find me trying some diet shake! Not on my watch. Any guesses as to what I'm holding here??? You won't believe it.
THIS, is a new hair color product called FAT Foam. Yep, that's right. I tried it this morning. After being sick with pneumonia and my pain issues, I had roots a mile long on top of my head that needed to be dealt with asap.
Let me start with I'm obviously a brunette and I have colored my own hair since I was probably 18 years old. An early grayer, (thank you Grandma Green, completely grey at 16) I have become well versed in the art of hair color. Some I have learned on my own and a few tips here and there from actual professionals. Bottom line, if you're just coloring your roots and not changing your actual hair color you can easily do it at home at much less cost than going to your haircare specialist.
While traveling through my local Wally World, e.g. Walmart I passed an end-cap of Fat Foam as I was picking up prescriptions. I was sick, in a hurry, and thought, what the heck. So after purchasing its been 3 weeks and I just had the opportunity, or rather felt good enough to even care if you saw my grey hairs to be honest!
It's a 10 minute product, which don't let that fool you. If you really have grey hair, you leave the product on longer than the directions indicate whether its 10 minutes, 45, or 60 minutes. Ergo, I left it on for about 40 minutes.
After washing and drying my hair the coverage is okay…….meaning I can still see some grey but its not that bad but it didn't give me any additional shine or oooomph that I general get from the 'other' 10 minute color options.
But let's talk about the real issue with this product. The name in itself, FAT FOAM was appealing and my immediate thought was, well it won't drip, could be interesting, but after using the product I'm not convinced its the product for everyone including a beginner! In fact, I'll say especially a beginner!!! I can see this being a real mess!
You shake it for 30 seconds in the shaker then pop the lid off and dig in. That's right…..you heard me correctly I said dig in. Kinda like eating whipped creme' with your hands…..you really shouldn't do it, nor should you color your hair this way.
I found it messy, difficult to control and would have much preferred that this had been in a squeeze bottle so I could get at the roots and not anywhere else. And for those of you who haven't figured this out yet, if you color your own hair, don't put it all over your head every single time you color!!!! NOOOOOO!
You only do the roots. Real hair isn't the same flat color all over and if you put the color all over your head you're going to look like a poster child for dying your own hair at home. I don't know about you, but that's not the look I'm going for.
So, bottom line would I buy this product again???? I doubt it. The results aren't THAT fabulous that I'm going to search it out in my local supermarket, and the mess wasn't worth the effort it took to get it where it was supposed to go. Bottom line, you can get professional color results at home for less money and a lot less trouble. I'm giving this one a thumbs down!
Now what to do what this fabulous $2 coupon I got with the purchase to have this amazing experience again at a reduced price if I so choose! HA!
Enjoy the rest of your beautiful day people! The weather is fabulous outside AND I have "washed that grey right outta my hair"!! ; )
Not just another Blog!
Some of you know me, some of you will not…….but that will change I promise! My intent here is not to share my life stories, my life's misery, or anything like that. I will; however, share with you my trials and tribulations, experiments with different products, and life experiences that may just happen to include a bit of my personal life. I hope you don't find it boring and I hope you continue to return just to see what I'm up to!!
